What shipping methods does RAYTRON offer for international orders?

Accepted Answer

We ship by sea freight (FCL/LCL) for bulk and mass-production orders, air freight for urgent or high-value small shipments, and international courier (DHL/FedEx/UPS) for samples and documents. The recommended method depends on total weight, destination, required lead time and Incoterms; we will propose the most cost-effective option with your RFQ.

Which Incoterms does RAYTRON support (EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP)?

Accepted Answer

We routinely quote EXW (Ex Works, Ningbo/Shanghai), FOB (Free On Board, Ningbo/Shanghai), CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) to major destination ports, and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) for customers who want a door-to-door service. For DDP we confirm customs duties, taxes and last-mile delivery with your forwarder or ours before quoting.

Question 3

How are coils and spools protected against moisture and oxidation during transport?

Accepted Answer

Each coil/spool is wrapped with stretch film, sealed in an inner plastic bag with desiccant, and when the alloy or destination requires it, packed under vacuum or with VCI (volatile corrosion inhibitor) film. For sea freight we add a moisture barrier liner inside the carton or crate to handle container condensation.

What packaging types are used — wooden cases, pallets, cartons?

Accepted Answer

Standard packaging is export-grade cartons on pallets. For heavy coils, busbars or long strips we use fumigated wooden cases or pallets. For precision or fine wire we use returnable spools in cartons. Packaging design can be customized to match your automatic payoff, feeding or warehouse racking.

Question 5

Are wooden packaging and pallets compliant with ISPM-15 fumigation standards?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All solid-wood packaging (cases, pallets, dunnage) is ISPM-15 treated and marked with the IPPC stamp. We can provide the fumigation/heat-treatment certificate and a packaging declaration with each shipment on request.

Question 6

Do you provide net weight, gross weight and a packing list with each shipment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every shipment includes a packing list specifying carton/case numbers, net weight, gross weight, dimensions, coil/spool identification and lot numbers. This lets your receiving team match physical goods to documents quickly. Mill test certificates (MTC) and certificate of origin are provided separately.

Question 7

What is the typical lead time from order confirmation to shipment?

Accepted Answer

For standard sizes in stock, lead time is typically 7–15 business days. For custom specs (non-standard dimensions, special cladding ratio, coating or spooling) it is usually 20–35 business days depending on material availability and process load. We confirm the exact date in the order acknowledgement and update you if the schedule changes.

Question 8

What export documents do you provide, and can you issue them in English?

Accepted Answer

Standard export documents include commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading (or air waybill), certificate of origin (CO), and mill test certificate (MTC). For destination-specific needs we can provide REACH, RoHS, conflict-mineral (3TG) declarations and fumigation certificates. All documents are issued in English; bilingual Chinese/English is available on request.

Question 9

Is cargo insurance included, or should we arrange it separately?

Accepted Answer

Under CIF terms we arrange minimum marine cargo insurance as required by Incoterms. For EXW and FOB terms insurance is the buyer's responsibility. We strongly recommend all-risk cargo insurance for high-value shipments and can arrange it on your behalf if you prefer; the cost is billed at cost price with the insurance certificate provided.

Question 10

What is the damage claims process if goods arrive damaged or short?

Accepted Answer

Notify us within 7 days of receipt with photos of the damaged packaging and product, the packing list, and the delivery note. We will open a claim investigation with the carrier (if under our terms) and arrange replacement, credit or rework depending on the findings. For visible damage, please note it on the delivery receipt before signing so the carrier claim is valid.

Question 11

How is sample shipping handled versus mass production shipping?

Accepted Answer

Samples are shipped by international courier (DHL/FedEx/UPS) with tracking, usually within 3–7 business days; sample cost and freight may be free for qualifying projects or charged and refunded against the first mass order. Mass production is shipped by sea or air freight with full export documents, palletized packing and a packing list, as described above.

Question 12

Can shipments be split and forwarded to multiple plants or warehouses?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can design packaging units and labeling so a single shipment is easy to split and forward to different plants. We can also issue multiple packing lists or ship in separate lots to different destinations if you provide the delivery addresses and allocation per lot in advance.

Question 13

Which ports do you normally ship from, and can you deliver to an inland destination?

Accepted Answer

We ship mainly from Ningbo and Shanghai ports. For inland destinations we can arrange door-to-door delivery under DDP terms, or hand the container to your forwarder at the port for inland routing. For air freight we use Shanghai Pudong (PVG) and Hangzhou Xiaoshan (HGH) airports depending on routing and airline availability.
