Nickel Clad Copper For Extreme Environments
Operating temp up to 400°C+, superior chemical stability. Designed for extreme environments like aerospace and petrochemicals.
RAYTRON specializes in high-performance Nickel Clad Copper (NCC) wire, designed for extreme temperature environments and severe oxidative conditions. By metallurgically bonding a protective nickel layer over a highly conductive copper core, our NCC conductors ensure stable electrical performance without degradation at elevated temperatures. RAYTRON NCC wire is a preferred choice for EV battery tabs, aerospace electronics, and high-temperature industrial heating cables, offering superior corrosion resistance and weldability.
What is Raytron NCC?
Raytron NCC (Nickel Clad Copper) is a bimetallic conductor available as round wire, strip and foil. Typical conductivity ranges from 70-85% IACS depending on nickel ratio. It is used in high-temperature, corrosive and high-reliability contact applications where pure copper or nickel alone cannot meet combined performance requirements.
Manufacturing Process
This product is manufactured using Clad & Weld process with metallurgical bonding. It is NOT electroplated.
Metallurgical bonding creates a permanent metallurgical connection, ensuring stable reliability compared to electroplating. This enables excellent weldability, designed to resist peeling during bending, and stable performance under thermal cycling conditions.
NCC vs Bare Copper - The Extreme Challenge
In heat and corrosion, copper's limits are perfectly covered by nickel
Performance Radar
💡 NCC is an engineered solution to keep copper core unoxidized above 400°C
Fearless of Heat
Pure nickel layer with 1455°C melting point effectively blocks oxygen, protecting inner copper conductor for operation in extreme temps.
Chemical Shield
Highly resistant to salt spray, ammonia, and acidic gases, making it the preferred conductor material for marine engineering and chemical plants.
Better than Plating
Cladding process creates a metallurgical bond designed to resist delamination under specified forming and bending conditions, addressing the peeling risk of plated products. Final performance must be validated for the target application.
Application Scenarios
Challenging the harshest industrial and scientific environments
